The recent Hanson Brother's appearance in May continued to bring excitement, smiles and many laughs to hockey fans in Central Pa!  Slap Shot movie icons Steve Carlson, Jeff Carlson and Dave Hanson once again -- hosted a fun day for over 350 fans at Twin Ponds East in Harrisburg.

"Paint the Rink Pink" featured the world famous Hanson Brothers playing with the Red Robin Robin’s and Team Full Circle Copiers with most proceeds benefiting the Pa Breast Cancer Coalition In six previous visits, the Hanson Brothers have helped raise over $41,000
for the PBCC. The exhibition hockey games with the Slap Shot Legends are the brain child of "Play it Again" for Charity Founder - Rob Ziemba and his Director of Operations - Jon Jehrio!

The mission of "Play it Again" for Charity is to provide fans the opportunity to meet and greet NHL Alumni and also gives amateur hockey players the opportunity to skate the pros. The "Bottle Glassed Hanson Trio" were featured in the 1977 hit movie Slap Shot which was ranked by Sports Illustrated as one of the top ten sports films of all times. Dave Hanson (Detroit Redwings) and Steve Carlson (LA Kings) played in the NHL. Steve Carlson was a former teammate of Wayne Gretzky.

The Hanson Brothers, (Steve and Jeff Carlson and Dave Hanson) have since made two other movies (Slap Shot 2 and 3) and have helped raised MILLIONS of dollars for charities across the US and Canada. They frequently tour with the "NHL Hockey Legends Tour."

The "trio" wore their famous Charlestown Chiefs uniforms -- complete with their signature black glasses and performed skits from their movies to the cheers of fans and players. Many of the players wore pink hockey laces and the game featured pink pucks and a pink themed arena. At the First Intermission, the Hanson Brothers played in the En-Kay Sporting Goods Little Dudes Game -- which introduced area youth to
old time hockey -- during the event sideshow.

According to Rob Ziemba, Founder of “Play It Againfor Charity;  “We created our own Hanson Brothers Booster Club right here in Central Pa.  It’s been a lot of fun giving hockey fans the opportunity to meet three stars from the greatest sports movie ever!  The Hanson’s were great with the fans and many fans returned from last year. We had a fun event, and next year we are doing it again!”

The successful event was sponsored in part by Red Robin Restaurants, Full Circle Copier Outlet of Harrisburg, (Steve McNally) Z-Max Sports, Twin Ponds and En-Kay Sporting Goods of Palmyra, Hampton Inn of Harrisburg, The Underdog Restaurant, Bladetape.com, and PuckHog Hockey of Harrisburg. Special thanks to Jimmy Cirrito of Jimmy's Old Town Tavern in Herndon Virgina for being the Emcee and making the event "colorful." Thank you to the zebra (ref) team of Jason Cleck
and Mike Wagner.

New to the event was Brooklynite Hockey Equipment. Players in the event debuted the new Marksman-Avenue S Hockey Stick with great delight.  Check out the Brooklynite Sticks at
Puck Hog Hockey Pro Shop at Twin Ponds in Harrisburg and at the Lancaster Ice Rink!
