It’s seldom that a movie from 1977 can return to the silver screen thirty two years later and still produce
laughs along with a knock out punch!
If you attended the re-release of Slap Shot
at the Allen Threater -- you watched one of the best sports movies ever made -- AND had the chance to meet one of it's
fun loving stars -- and EVEN talk about the movie over a beer at the Batdorf Restaurant later that night! For over three decades, “Slap Shot” has been locked in a Hollywood movie vault.
On October 17th and 18th, Lebanon County’s own; “Play it Again” for Charity
re-released the movie in an intimate setting which showcased the sports masterpiece and raised $1450.00
for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition!
According to Rob Ziemba, Founder of “Play it Again” for Charity; “Hosting
Steve Carlson at the re-release was an dream come true for all us movie fans. He joked with us before the movie that
he's seen Slap Shot a thousand times and that he would probably be in and out of the theather. Once the movie rolled
on the big screen and with the sound system of the Allen, he was glued to his seat. He admitted how amazing
it was to see the movie on the big screen and in the original format, a first for him -- since 1977. Fans were really
surprised when we stopped the movie after the infamous "best shift in hockey scene" for a ten minute Q/A
with Steve."

Jon Jehrio, Chairman of “Play it Again” for Charity commented;
"Fans really enjoyed the movie and it mean't a lot to Rob to have the movie weekend. It was cool
to see fans dressed up in their favorite hockey jerseys and we even had a few Hanson Brother look-alikes. The movie
was a great way to kick off our 10th Anniversary -- as we are already making plans for a Hanson Brothers return
visit in May, which will include a celebrity golf outing featuring the original Hanson Brothers -- organized by our newly
appointed Director of Special Events, Steve "Dr Hook" McNally. We will also give fans the opportunity to see
the Hanson Brothers on ice during our traditional benefit ice hockey game with local talent -- and the infamous Little
Chiefs versus Hanson Brothers Kids Game."

"I just wanted to say thank you very, very, much for organizing this event.
It was a real treat to not only be able to see one of the greatest movies of all time, patronize a worthy charity, but
also have a Hanson brother in the house! Mr. Carlson was quite enagaging & hilarious as well as enlightening when it came
to the history of the movie itself. I truly hope you hold another in the future & would think it would be great if it
was an annual event." TW
